Solar space looks attractive; will stay out of power companies: Pankaj Pandey, ICICIdirect.com
In a chat with ET Now, Pankaj Pandey, HoR, ICICIdirect.com, shares his view on power sector.

ET Now: What to your mind would the cabinet go-ahead for the offshore wind policy would mean for the likes of an Inox Wind or for that matter PTC and Suzlon and does it seem like what we saw, yesterday, was just a trading pop or do you think materially things are going to change for these companies?

Pankaj Pandey: On the power side, especially, some of the renewable players, we met some of them but largely the challenge continues to remain on the SEB side. So, unless, that problem does not get solved, a lot of opportunity may not actually play out. Some of the names that you mentioned, for example, in case of PTC India, we do not like the business model of the company from that perspective and largely, the entire power place is largely regulated and I do not think this sector is going to outperform for some period of time till the time all their regulatory hurdles are sort of solved. So probably, at this point in time, it does not make sense to sort of do bottom fishing, probably as and when the clarity comes from the government side, that is when one can look at them. Otherwise, solar as a space looks quite attractive.
