Slowdown has impacted infrastructure sector: Sangeeta Purushottam

In an interview to ET Now, Sangeeta Purushottam, Managing Director, Nine Rivers Capital gives his view on infrastructure sectorstocks.

When India’s biggest company, L&T indicates that instead of 20% growth, they will only grow at 5%, is that beginning of the trouble for the entire EPC business?

Actually the slowdown has been evident for a while. This is just a corroboration of the fact that the slowdown is very much there. It is something to be concerned about more importantly because it is not as if we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel very quickly for the infrastructure sector.

The sense is that the policy slowdown that we have seen has impacted the sector. We do not really see any evidence that that’s likely to reverse, so it is something to be concerned about. If in a country like India, the largest company is finding itself in a position where the growth is slowing down substantially.
