'Sell metal, mining, telecom stocks'

ET spoke with Nischal Maheshwari, head research, Edelweiss, to find out what pockets he would go short at.

What are the pockets that you would go short at this point in time? Would sectors like metals, telecom and sugar constitute that pocket?

None of these, I am still worried about metals and mining, but I would not go short on them. If I had them in my portfolio, I would be selling them. Similar would be the case for telecom. I would be selling them, I would not be shorting them. The case for cement also is similar, but I would go out and sell rather than shorting. May be some amount of shorting can be done on the cement side because we believe that next at least one quarter, numbers are not going to be good for them and prices have just started falling for cement. So that could be a problem.
