See opportunities in oil space; watch out for Q4 results: Anish Damania

In a chat with ET Now, Anish Damania, Head Institutional Equities, IDFC Securities, talks about the pockets that can outperform markets going ahead.

ET Now: It seems that results are going to guide the market going ahead. So far, the analyst community is already expecting earnings downgrades. What are the stocks/sectors that you are going to look out for? Where do you sense pockets of outperformance coming in?

Anish Damania: Clearly, one of the packs which looks to be reasonably well positioned is the oil and gas space.
Interestingly, a lot of oil stocks have underperformed. That is the sector which we need to look. The sector presents an opportunity in the ongoing earnings season. On the flip side, cement and consumer sectors could disappoint investors.
