Right time to make more allocations towards the PSU banks versus private: Amit Khurana

In a chat with ET Now,Amit Khurana, Co- Head Equites & Head of Research, Dolat Capital Market Pvt. Ltd., shares his views on PSU banks.



ET Now: But tactically what would you play within banks if indeed a person can assume that this is the sign of things to come from the Reserve Bank of India would PSU banks be a good tactical play right now?

Amit Khurana: Well our preference for private sector banks remains as it is but we have been suggesting over the last few weeks that the incremental allocations need to go towards PSU banks.

They look attractive while some of them did rally in the expectations of this rate cut. Over the next two to three quarters selective PSU banks will outperform but that is where the stock picks would play a very very important role on the portfolio allocation.

Incrementally we believe that one must make more allocation towards the PSU banks versus private.
