Renewable energy theme looks attractive; opportunities may pan out after SEB restructuring: Pankaj Pandey, ICICIdirect.com

In an interview with ET Now, Pankaj Pandey, HoR-ICICIdirect.com, shares his views on renewablwe energies:

ET Now: I do not know if you have official coverage on these companies but do you like the renewable energies theme in India?

Pankaj Pandey: If you look at given the kind of commitment which country has given in terms of CO2 reductions, renewable as a theme appears quite attractive but domestically we are still facing challenges at the SEB front, and till the time this SEB problem is not addressed, a lot of these opportunities may not actually sort of fructify the way it has been originally expected to be.

So from that perspective, if SEB restructuring happens and this problem gets addressed, then we would expect a lot of these opportunities to probably pan out, otherwise see there are certain select names which one can look at but as of now we are still not chasing power as entire sector because of again the challenges what we are facing on the SEB side but if it gets addressed, then yes we would be looking at some of these names as of now we do not have coverage on company like Inox Wind but we like the solar space more but there the challenge is that you do not have too many listed companies in that space.
