Remain invested in equities: Subramanium, Quantum Advisors
IV Subramanium, CIO, Quantum Advisors, in a chat with ET Now talks about markets and domestic institutional investors.
The domestic institutional investors have been a little bit shy of the markets. They have been constant sellers. By when do you think they will start participating in the rally or do you think it is too late for them right now?
I do not think it is too late. If you really look at the opportunities in India and the way the Indian economy is growing, it is definitely a good strategy to remain invested in equities. So the domestic investors also need to invest. But having said that, we did see last year there were a lot of regulatory changes and there was this issue of whether you should be buying insurance or buying mutual fund products. A lot of these things I guess left the Indian retail investor a bit confused as to what he should be doing.
So as they understand the markets better and as they understand their own needs and the products better, some of this money would definitely come back into the Indian markets and that should augur well over the long periods of time.
