Ranbaxy will perform without doubt: Satish Betadpur

Crucial data coming out of the US markets overnight...what does one do now and any picks that you may be having?

Satish Betadpur: Its only half an hour before the market close and we will wait for the data when it comes out later tonight but what basically we are looking at a stock specific movers irrespective of what the markets are and right now you are flashing on your screen Ranbaxy which is a stock that we have liked for quite sometime. Its finally doing what we were expecting it to do which is basically clean house. Daiichi is finally stepping up and cleaning house, they have been doing it behind the scenes and now they have come out and said these are the things that to look forward to which is getting the US FDA Approval.

There is a blockbuster Lipitor generic that could come next year. And then selling generic in general in Japan so these are all the triggers for Ranbaxy and so the stock will perform irrespective of what happens in the macro. So we at this point we are just completely focussed on the stock specific issues not really focussing too much on whether the Nifty will move up or down because that is dependent on more what happens in the US.
