No spectacular up moves in terms of performances in the IT sector: Sethuram Iyer

The general performance of the IT sector is probably going to be in line with what we saw in the second quarter.

In chat with ET NOW, Sethuram Iyer, Chief Investment Officer, Daiwa Asset Management, tells his expectations from IT bellweather Infosys.

What is your expectation from Infosys in terms of its earnings, as it is believed that TCS will outperform from IT sector?

While I cannot comment on the individual stocks, the general performance of the IT sector is probably going to be in line with what we saw in the second quarter. I do not see any spectacular up moves in terms of performances because there has not been anything which is being reported significantly in terms of business growth or in terms of exchange rate movement which have been particularly favourable.

We have seen exchange rates more or less in the same band in the last two quarters so I guess that it is not going to be any major spectacular movement in terms of earnings for this sector but we have been watching that this particular sector, there have been individual companies who have shown diversion in the trends as against the overall sector and that is probably going to continue in this quarter.
