No rate cut will make it difficult for real estate to rise: Anand Tandon

"There has been too much of a interest rate play and slowly the realisation is coming in to the economist do not quite agree with it."

In a chat with ET Now, Anand Tandon, of JRG Securities shares his views on real estate.

ET Now: What is your call on the real estate?

Anand Tandon: Well there has been too much of a interest rate play and slowly the realisation is coming in to the economist do not quite agree with it just yet that cutting interest rates can only be up to a limited point as to how much pressure you can put on the RBI Governor beyond that the economics still does not justify a cut in interest rate. Therefore, if there is no real interest rate cut in the real economy real estate is something which is somewhat a difficult for it to rise because already in most markets especially places like Bangalore and NCR the and of course Mumbai these are markets which are somewhat overheated at this stage.
