NBFCs to be an interesting play; exposure increased: Vijai Mantri

In a chat with ET Now, Vijai Mantri, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Pramerica Mutual Fund shares his views on the NBFC space.

ET Now: A lot of people in the run-up to the elections are talking about putting money in NBFCs. Do you like that space?

Vijai Mantri: This could be very interesting play. Many private sector banks are available at very high valuations. PSU banks see a lot of challenges as far as asset impairment continues. There isn't any change at the ground level to suggest that these challenges have gone away.

NBFC could be a very interesting space because you will find the quality book and within that, you can own quality names. If challenges with banking industry space are being removed over a period of time, NBFC would be very interesting idea.

ET Now: Are you a buyer in NBFCs?

Vijai Mantri: Yes, we have increased our exposure.
