Monsanto a good play, but not for the near term because of monsoon: Manish Sonthalia

In a chat with ET Now, Manish Sonthalia, SVP & Head-Equity PMS, Motilal Oswal AMC, shares his views on the agri theme. Excerpts:

ET Now: You were talking about as to how you like the agri theme as well and Monsanto and Rallis were the names that you were bullish on. Are you continuing your bullish stance on these two?

Manish Sonthalia: See Monsanto is a good play. But maybe not for the near term because monsoons obviously are dampener. But look at it from the next two, three, four years point of view that is good name to reckon with. Rallis again is one of the marquee names within the agrochemical space. It is not available very expensive. Obviously, these are the long term names within sector that we have on our radar. We do not own them as yet but these are some of the quality names. But that should only be, we are only looking at them from a two-three point of view and if the valuations do correct, we have a scope to include them in our portfolio.
