Mid-cap IT space should be much more abuzz: Prakash Diwan

My bet is that the mid-cap IT space should be much more abuzz as compared to the 2-3-4 heavyweights going forward.

In a chat with ET Now, Prakash Diwan, Head–Institutional Clients Group, Asit C Mehta Investment Intermediates Ltd, talks about

ET Now: What are you making of the mid-cap IT numbers that have trickled in so far, the likes of Polaris and MindTree?

Prakash Diwan: Fairly encouraging. We have seen the nimble footed players still talking about margin expansion, particularly MindTree, it distinctly could stand out amidst the pack by showing some margin expansion towards the end of FY12 if not necessarily in the next two quarters. My sense is that the game shifting to people who are fast in terms of getting into the right businesses, right verticals, moving out of geographies if required and keep the wage costs under a tight check, so mid-cap companies could distinctly, you look at NIIT Tech, you look at MindTree, you look at Polaris, look at Hexaware. In the whole pack you have got KPIT possibly also coming up with some decent numbers. My bet is that the mid-cap IT space should be much more abuzz as compared to the 2-3-4 heavyweights going forward.
