Maruti could be a dark horse in the near term: Nitin Raheja, AQF Advisors

"Maruti could be a dark horse in the near term as they have managed to protect and grow their market share," Raheja said.

In a chat with ET Now, Nitin Raheja, CIO, AQF Advisors, shares his views about Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.

ET Now: Do you think Maruti in the near term could be a dark horse as they have managed to protect their market share. They also have managed to increase their market share and the current strength in Yen will only boost the operating profit margins going forward?

Nitin Raheja:
Well surely, in the long term Maruti will definitely be looking good. To show you the goodwill that this brand enjoys on the ground as far as the car like Swift or the others are concerned is unbelievable.

So, I am really not surprised with the way that the car is doing on the ground. If you talk to the dealers, then it has the least discount vis-à-vis all the other cars. So, the kind of market share gains that they have done in the month of March is not at all surprising.
