Markets still have some upside closer to 6700 to 7000 before poll results: Manish Sonthalia

In a chat with ET Now, Manish Sonthalia, Sr Vice President & Head–Equity Portfolio Management Services, Motilal Oswal Asset Management–PMS, shares his views on markets, banking. Excerpts:

ET Now: What is your view now we were talking about it last week the run away rally seems to have paused for a bit so what happens to all the talk about further upside from here?

Manish Sonthalia: I am of the opinion that markets still have some upside before the elections, we are not done with it fully and the way the some of the large caps particularly in the BFSI space still have some upside so whether it be on HDFC Bank, ICICI or an HDFC. These are heavyweights on the Sensex and whether two book becomes a two and a half book before elections nobody would mind that is how it is. I would think that markets still have some upside closer to 6700 to 7000 before the elections results are out is not ruled out.
