Large cap themes like L&T, BHEL, GMR great picks for investor's portfolio: Edelweiss

In a chat with ET Now, Ambareesh Baliga, Managing Partner-Global Wealth Management, Edelweiss Financial Services, shares his views on large cap and infra themes. Excerpt:

ET Now: Do you play large cap themes like L&T, BHEL etc. or Voltas? Do some of the beaten down infra names like the GVK Power, GMR Infra etc. or an IL&FS Engineering etc. come into play?

Ambareesh Baliga: It will be a mix; clearly, L&T has to be there in the portfolio because that should be one of the best performers in the large cap ones. Along with that, I will have a GMR — that is one stock which can move to levels of about Rs 30-32 quite easily. IL&FS transportation has been beaten down for quite sometime save some good management and projects. It can move up to around 30-35 per cent from these levels.

Stocks like Voltas, Crompton Greaves which has been beaten down for the last two to three years is another space where you will have these stocks bouncing back.
