JSW, smaller steel firms top picks in the metal pack right now: Altamount Capital

In an interview with ET Now, Prakash Diwan, Director, Altamount Capital Management shares his views on the metal space. Excerpts:

ET Now: What is your view on the metals pack right now?

Prakash Diwan: We have seen a surprise element within the steel basket thanks to ArcelorMittal’s announcement of earnings. Among the picks, Tata Steel is an obvious choice but I would also want to put my money on to the smaller ones like JSW Steel.

There is still some headroom, they have not caught up yet but I would stick with the ferrous guys. I would not move on to the Sesa pack or Hindalco. Therefore, steel is promising and that too the smaller ones like JSW.
