IT, pharma good bets to put your money during an opportunity: Pramerica MF

In a chat with ET Now, Vijai Mantri, MD & CEO, Pramerica MF, shares his views on the small and mid cap stocks. Excerpt:
ET Now: Would dips in IT and pharma be used as buying opportunities?

Vijai Mantri: Yes; if you see the IT sector, they move from a vicious circle to virtuous circle — the rupee is around 62, the lease rentals are coming down, the employees expectations are much more reasonable and we continue to see the global economy recovery.

Europe will be under a lot of pressure to cut cost; we will see a lot of outsourcing deal being given out to IT companies in India. As far as IT companies are concerned, there are many good quality IT companies where the corporate governance is not an issue of at all.

Hence, you have the visibility; as far as earning growth is concerned, the corporate governance is good. Whenever you get an opportunity in IT sector, one need to look at buying.

Similarly, the pharma sector is doing very well in our opinion; whenever there is a dip in the pharma sector, one can go and own the pharma sector.

Another important point is that in the last 45 days, most of the emerging market currency has depreciated, but the rupee has actually appreciated.

Hence, from all these perspective, IT and pharma are the good bet to put your money whenever there is a opportunity.
