IT companies to improve the guidance as demand and volume pick up: Vinay Khattar

In a chat with ET Now, Vinay Khattar, Head Research (Individual Clients), Edelweiss Financial Services Limited, shares his views on the IT companies. Excerpts:

ET Now: Do you think Wipro would turn out to be the dark horse in the IT pack because the overweight stance on HCL Tech, TCS is known even Tech Mahindra for that matter, it is really Wipro which has been lagging?

Vinay Khattar: Yes that could well play out, with the kind of guidance that Infosys has given there is the possibility that the others like TCS and HCL could better the guidance. There is clearly a demand pickup and volume pick up which could play out in the favour of these companies.

The only concern which could remain is on the appreciation of the currency which could have a mild negative impact but otherwise with the demand pick up happening in most of the IT segments in the geographies in which these companies are present there could be an upside to Wipro from the current levels.
