Infra stocks will remain under some pressure: Dhiraj Agarwal, Standard Chartered Capital

There are some signs that investment cycle is slowing down. So infra stocks will continue to remain under some pressure for a while.

Dhiraj Agarwal, Director, Institutional Equities, Standard Chartered Capital, in an interview with ET Now gives his views on infra stocks


Is that a valid fear that investments like cycle could slowdown, so it make sense to remain underweight on infra stocks?

There are some signs that investment cycle is slowing down. So infra stocks will continue to remain under some pressure for a while and the key trigger for that I think is going to be a scenario that at least interest rates are stabilising if not coming down. So whenever the market starts getting confidence that interest rates have sort of peaked out and stabilised is the time I think infra investments may start getting planned and start picking up again.
