Hold HDFC, HDFC Bank as long-term investment bets: Deepak Mohoni

As long-term investment stocks, these are both very good. In the short term, they rarely make sharp moves which traders look for.

In an interview with ET Now, Deepak Mohoni, Director, trendwatchindia.com, shares his trading calls.

What is the call on HDFC and HDFC Bank?

Both HDFC and HDFC Bank are in a way defensives. Even when they go down, the percentage declines are not that sharp. They tend to go up when other stocks are going down. So, there is a slide negative correlation there but overall, their annual and monthly performances are quite safe and they do not really sell off very much. I would not be too perturbed about a minor dip here or there. As long-term investment stocks, these are both very good. In the short term, they rarely make sharp moves which traders look for. So, at the moment, I would just stick to them as long-term investments and certainly hold them.
