Exit season at broking firms?

The exodus of senior staff at a US-based broking firm has triggered off speculation at a couple of other broking firms as well. If market sources are to be believed, the equities team of an Indian broking house that claims to be instrumental in creating successful investors is very close to joining the US broking firm.

The plight of a prominent Indian outfit, promoted by a corporate house, is also sad, with several key personnel quitting the firm as a result of severe target pressure. Talking of work pressure, this listed Indian broking house has set a standard chart for gauging employee performance.

It is said, relationship managers of this outfit are forced to bring in business five times their salary. Target achievers are rewarded with incentives as high as 20% of business brought in.
