GMR deal augurs well for the company in the long run: Sudip Bandyopadhyay
In a chat with ET Now, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, President, Destimoney Securities Pvt Ltd shares his views on GMR infra. Edited Excerpts:

ET Now: The GMR deal could perhaps be an opportunity of value for GMR Infra, which has been plagued by lot of debt concerns of late. Do you see that in this light the story about GMR Energy?

Sudip Bandyopadhyay: Yes. This will be a welcome development. The basic problem with infrastructure and some of the other companies as well in the cap goods and overall infrastructure sector is that they are burdened with significant amount of debt. Until and unless they have a way to handle their debt, it will be extremely difficult for them to move ahead. Having said that it is extremely critical to realise that these things do take quite a lot of time and there are lots of uncertainties involved, just some discussions on deal does not mean money on the bank.
