Fundamentals of metal sector remain weak; stay cautious: Sudip Bandyopadhyay

In a chat with ET Now, market expert Sudip Bandyopadhyay talks about metal stocks in general.

ET Now: Metal stocks made some decent gains on Friday. What are your thoughts on the entire pack?

Sudip Bandyopadhyay: I have been very cautious on this particular sector. Unfortunately, I will continue to retain that stand. I think the global situation, as far as metals are concerned, has not improved. These are all jut market-driven movements. There is no fundamental basis to this and I will not start buying into metals just because of one small rally here or there. I think the situation in China and other metal markets are actually grim and I will not touch the metal sector at this juncture.
