FDI in aviation is a big positive for the sector: Shashank Khade, Kotak Securities

In an interview with Shashank Khade, Executive Vice President-Portfolio Management Services, Kotak Securities shares his views about the airline sector. ET Now: Would you classify stocks like SpiceJet and Jet Airways as good contra bets?

Shashank Khade: Airlines of course is a difficult business. Given the way the oil and the pricing power has moved, they cannot really pass it on to consumers much. But the stock prices are reflecting most of the negatives in the business.

If FDI happens in airlines, then it will be a big positive for the sector. Right now, the survivors are actually going to take it all. So, I think that if these companies continue to operate efficiently then there is still a strong business case for them.
