Export realisation of Godrej Industries quite high, may benefit: Manish Sonthalia

In a chat with ET Now, Manish Sonthalia, Sr Vice President & Head–Equity Portfolio Management Services, Motilal Oswal Asset Management–PMS, shares his views on OMCs. Excerpts:

ET Now: What is your call on the chemical companies as a whole?

Manish Sonthalia: We have one company in our portfolio which is Godrej Industries and they are into manufacture of Oleochemicals and whole lot of other fatty acids etc. as a standalone business unit in their standalone entity. Export realisations are quite high for some of their products that seems to be doing quite well. Some of the names which you mentioned I have no idea so I would not be commenting on them but more or less it is not a very higher margin business but export component of these chemicals like the Oleochemicals is a higher item of export and some of these players are monopolies like fatty acids and some of the oleaochemicals of Godrej Industries seems to be one of the leading players. So exports are doing well for the chemicals those companies which are participating in exports of some of the product should tend to benefit.
