Difficult to take a call on Cairn India: Varatharajan Sivasankaran

"Till we come to know what exactly that thing is and what they are paying for whether that is fair or not, it is difficult to take a call."

Varatharajan Sivasankaran, Analyst, Indiabulls Securities in an interview with ET Now talks about Cairn India.

Do you think the concentration on the Greenland exploration right now is taking supersedence over Cairn India?

Probably, probably not, it would be difficult to say because what is their kind of commitment in Greenland is not fully known but the fact remains that Cairn seems to be having overall principles in terms of finding oil and then monetising as far as just possible, not really staying the course, so it fits into that scheme of things for Cairn Plc.

What do you see for Cairn India at the current juncture?

Obviously, we have to focus on the reserve number because ultimately Vedanta knows something more than what we all know as of now. Till we come to know what exactly that thing is and what they are paying for whether that is fair or not, it is difficult to take a call. Definitely it seems to be the case that they obviously know something more and obviously there seems to be much more than what we have been counting on till now.
