Deceleration in the consumption growth taking toll on the FMCG sector: Dipen Shah
In a chat with ET Now, Dipen Shah, Sr. VP-Private Client Group Research, Kotak Securities, shares his views on the Consumer sector. Excerpts:

ET Now: For the moment which is your favourite consumer stock or brand owner? Do you like Bata? Do you like Page Industries or you are betting on Jubilant Foodworks?

Dipen Shah: Within the consumer space, we are slightly cautious at the current levels because the consumption growth which was pretty decent has now started tapering off.
Speaking on the whole FMCG segment also, we believe that apart from stocks like an ITC or maybe to a certain extent Marico, we would be cautious largely because of the volume growth which has seen a deceleration in the last couple of quarters and probably if the economy does not improve, there could be some further deceleration coming up.

So we as of now would be slightly more cautious on the overall consumer theme.
