Corrective market gives opportunity to buy into midcap agri stocks: Deven Choksey

In a chat with ET NOW, Deven Choksey, KR Choksey Securities gives his call on the midcap agri space. Excerpts:

ET Now: Is there anything that you would recommend to buy from the midcap space?

Deven Choksey: Within the agri space, we like Jain Irrigation, Advanta Seeds and UPL, apart from EID Parry. We find these stocks good to accumulate in our portfolio. Each of these companies has a distinct advantage of the business model in which they operate and the micro irrigation business model, in case of Jain Irrigation, the seed business model in case of Advanta, the agro chemical business model in case of UPL are areas where some of the breakthrough products are expected to come up in this financial year. Most importantly for EID, where the sugar refinery has already started the production.

According to me, these four stocks within the agri space would probably go well with the theme of the government's resolve to work for the farmers, where these companies are likely to find a larger amount of benefit.

A corrective market like this gives opportunity to buy into the stocks.
