Continue to look at infrastructure space: BNP Paribas Investment Partners

In a chat with ET Now, Simon Godfrey, Investment Specialist-Emerging Markets, BNP Paribas Investment Partners, talks about infrastructure space.

ET Now: Are you also exploring opportunities in infra, power, utilities, and road projects?

Simon Godfrey: We continue to look at the infrastructure theme. At the moment the dynamic of infrastructure is that there is not an acceleration necessarily in the amount of projects and the political backdrop to allow that to happen is not yet there. So we prefer not to play infrastructure itself as a global theme. We are not in that kind of environment which favours that, though we do see that there is progress in power and road building and what we will do is we will try to exploit bottom up opportunities there in certain segments and certain areas. We obviously get very strong growth prospects from the fact that India is building out infrastructure at a rapid pace.
