Consumer sector to yield good results: Anish Damania

In a chat with ET Now,Anish Damania, Head-Institutional Equities, IDFC Securities, shares his views on FMCG sector.

ET Now: What did you make of the move in the FMCG names in Friday’s session, the likes of Unilever spurt a fair bit?

Anish Damania: As far as Hindustan Lever was concerned there were rumours suggesting that there could be a buyback there at a higher price so that has what led to the stock jumping up. Consumer sector as such has underperformed the market quite aggressively, so it is just a bounce up which is happening in the other names.

Earnings were still fine with those names so you are not going to see an absolute downside to these names.
