Constant play between telecom and internet makes it a challenging space: Prateek Agarwal, ASK Investment Manager
In a chat with ET Now, Prateek Agarwal, CIO, ASK Investment Manager, shares his views on the telecom space. Excerpts:

ET Now: What is your current view on the telecom space?

Prateek Agarwal: Telecom is a very challenging space—there is a constant play between telecom and internet. While telecom companies own both the assets, the pricing of voice is higher than the way internet is priced.

As people gets savvier and as more people start to carry smarter phones, charging a rupee on voice would tend to become difficult. Hence, that is our concern on telecom. Also, over the next two to three years, most of the current bit of licences would have to be renewed. While the space is getting some bit of pricing power back, we are not too positive on the space.
