CESC could be a good bet: Vinay Khattar

In a chat with ET Now, Vinay Khattar, Head Research (Individual Clients), Edelweiss Financial Services Limited shares his views on CESC. Excerpts:

ET Now: I do not know if you have looked at CESC but the power business is doing okay. Firstsource has delivered in the last two or three quarters. Do you like CESC?

Vinay Khattar: It is a good stock to look at, but again you may want to just look at Firstsource, as well as the power side of it. On the retail side, I do not think there is much to choose and that is the story across the sector, wherein whether you look at futures or others, most of the companies are not going to be making any decent money.

Secondly, a number of these players had first of all put in money on the retail side with an aim that eventually they will get a big buyer, who will will not only provide cash, but technology and other services as well, in terms of setting up retail infrastructure. However, that is not happening for a number of the players and that continues to remain a laggard or a drag for most of these companies. CESC just on the basis of power, could be an interesting bet to look at.
