NEW DELHI: The Spot gold touched a record high on Monday, on track for its longest winning run in at least four decades on the back of increasing worries about the euro zone debt crisis and a growing threat of a U.S. government default.

Brent crude fell to $117 a barrel on Monday as investors shy away from risky assets, while the possibility of a second IEA oil release also weighed on sentiment.
