Bullish on Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy's for the short-term: Shashank Khade, Kotak AMC

In a chat with ET Now, Shashank Khade, Senior VP, Kotak AMC PMS, shares his views about the pharma sector.

ET Now: What about pharma which has really outperformed in the last couple of trading sessions as well? Is there anything that you like in that sector?

Shashank Khade: The large cap pharma is the only place where one can play some bets there. Stocks like Sun Pharma could be an interesting one. Even if it has rallied and outperformed significantly, there are various other large cap names like Dr. Reddy’s where one can invest in.

But these are shorter term opportunities right now because absolute returns from here in these names may not really be very significant for the next one year. If rupee were to depreciate further even for a short while, these are the places where people will tend to place their bets for the shorter term.

For the longer term, my sense is that as the economy revives, people will start investing back into economic sensitive stocks and capex related plays may come back slowly and steadily in the next couple of quarters.
