Bullish on RIL, stock offers good opportunity for next 2 years: Anish Damania, Emkay Global

In a chat with ET Now, Anish Damania, Head-Institutional Equity, Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd, shares his views on Reliance Industries Ltd.

ET Now: It is very easy to make a bearish scenario for the Indian markets and equities. But despite a bearish scenario, the markets are holding on. Why is that happening?

Anish Damania: Yes, we have two ways to look at it. Firstly, we need to focus on what is holding on versus what is not holding on. The markets have their own way of doing things in terms of moving up or down, but we are trying to focus within the macro headwinds where we can buy into stocks.

For example, Reliance Industries looks as the biggest opportunity for the next two years given their planning in terms of investments, gas pricing and the new discoveries which are expected to come up on the gas front. Also, Reliance is amongst the very few companies which will benefit from the rupee depreciation. So, the stock can do really very well.
