Bharti Airtel is good for long term investors: Prakash Diwan

People who didnt have Bharti earlier in the portfolio might still not find it attractive from earnings expectation perspective.

In a chat with ET Now, Prakash Diwan, Head–Institutional Clients Group, Asit C Mehta Investment Intermediates Ltd gives his view on various stocks.

ET Now: What is the call on Bharti?

Prakash Diwan: Bharti is providing a very good opportunity for long term investors to start adding to the portfolio. People who didn’t have Bharti earlier in the portfolio might still not find it attractive from earnings expectation perspective. We were worried for last couple of quarters on the new acquisitions. The large acquisition remains in Africa and that has started turning to be positive now for them. The management has very clearly indicated that the tariff hike is not restricted to just a few circles and that is going to augur very well for Bharti. It is time that the 3G investment also starts paying off returns. It will start kicking in terms of market share. So, Bharti from the current situation could decently give another short term upside as well as long term strength. The short term target is about 475-480 and on a longer term basis an upwards of 500.
