Bet on housing finance companies; to benefit from govt's Smart Cities plan: Arindam Ghosh

In a chat with ET Now, Arindam Ghosh, CEO of BlackRidge Capital, shares his thoughts on housing finance. Excerpts:

ET Now: The derivative housing finance is a subset of banks and their NBFCs, but housing finance companies somehow stand out in the NBFC pack as well for the consistent growth that they have shown over the last six to eight quarters, possibly even more. Do you like this bunch at large?

Arindam Ghosh: If the government actually implements the 100 smart cities plan and the low cost housing programmes across, the housing finance companies are going to be beneficiaries of that. Since we are increasingly getting into the interest rate easing process, we would probably see demand picking up gradually. Thus yes, that sector within that pack looks quite promising.
