Best months for cement space will start in January: Prakash Diwan

In an interview with ET Now, Prakash Diwan, Head - Institutional Business, Networth Stock Broking, shares his views on the outlook of cement stocks.

What is your call on cement, considering the pocket is under-owned right now? Would it be a good time to buy right now?

From a value picking perspective, cement probably looks right but I would still not give it that kind of a precedence or that kind of priority over the core infrastructure and construction stocks that are still available at decent valuation. Cement is a longer term story and we probably have the best quarters starting January all the way to June. So, in terms of numbers, we would rather go with the likes of Ambuja, ACC and Ultratech possibly, and not necessarily the smaller ones or the mid-cap stocks. Cement would be a much more longer story and you would definitely get enough opportunities to buy these on dips.
