Banking stocks' outlook seems positive: Avinash Gupta, Bonanza Portfolio Limited

ET Now caught up with Avinash Gupta, Assistant Vice President Research Equity, Bonanza Portfolio Limited, to find out which stocks he is betting on in the banking pack.

Do you have a buy call on banks at this point in time? What is your view, especially in the light of SBI’s recent comments about how their treasury book is likely to take a hit on the count of the hardening of yields?

The hardening of yields will definitely affect the banks to a certain extent, but the level of increased economic activity augurs well for the banking industry on the whole and there are a lot of concerns due to which the banks got beaten down before the Budget and the problems overseas, but now those things are behind. So, the banking stocks look good from here onwards.
