Banking sector should do very well: Hemang Jani, Sharekhan

Hemang Jani, Senior Vice President, Sharekhan, in a chat with ET Now talks about the banking sector.

Do you think that this is a bit of an overbought session that we are seeing for most of these banking stocks?

People were underweight on the banking because there was an expectation of a rate hike in the credit policy and to some extent that has materialised. But we feel that given the fact that the core operating income growth over the next 2-3 quarters is going to be strong, the sector should do very well. So we feel that sector as a whole should do very well, at least for the next 2-3 quarters.
