Banking as a pack looks good: Pankaj Pandey, ICICI Direct

Talking about the markets, what is it that has caught your eyes? Have any of the results made you buoyant enough on the company to be bought from a medium term perspective?

From an overall perspective, the front line companies have delivered good set of numbers. On the banking side, there were initial hiccups in terms of spread getting under pressure and there could be concerns on the quality front. But most of the banks have come out with good set of numbers.

We are not seeing any deterioration in asset quality and going forward - probably one or two quarters - there might be concerns in terms of spread but that has been more or less incorporated into the current market prices. So banking as a pack looks good.
