Rajesh Jain, Market Strategist in an interview to ET NOW said that we have had some success in products from Big Animation recently and some India specific products have done well. I do not think we have the traction in that space at all, so as to feel encouraged to advise the retail investor to invest in animation. The animation space should be left for private equity investors.

If anybody can look at the animation space? People who do not have exposure, say for example at Tata Elxsi or the other ones that have got enlisted recently or even a Crest Animation, which has been lying at this 100 levels for time immemorial so to say?

The animation space is certainly not for the retail investors, I mean you can play a Tata Elxsi because it forms the backbone, the hardware configurations for an animation player, so it is an equipment supplier largely. Tata Elxsi would be probably the only credible name in that space even though you have a lot of its players out there. The problem with the animation space is you do not have critical mass, you do not have visibility.

We have had some success in products from Big Animation recently and some India specific products have done well but I do not think we have the traction in that space at all, so as to feel encouraged to advise the retail investor to invest in animation. The animation space should be left for private equity investors, it will be quite sometime before you can have a credible business model out there.
