Aggregate earnings still to show the effect of positive newsflow for midcaps: Amit Khurana

In a chat with ET Now, Amit Khurana, Co-Hd Eq & HoR, Dolat Capital Market, shares his views on midcap companies.

ET Now: The activity is so brisk in the broader market space and which is what I want to draw your attention to. I mean two or three names which stand out, one of them is GSFC, then we had a bunch of other midcap names as well. Your favoured infra play, PNC Infratech, not really a small cap but Rs 2500 crores, so largely a midcap space.

Amit Khurana: Yes, absolutely a midcap space.

ET Now: Anything that has stood out for you in the last one, one-and-a-half months. Some stories, some news in a particular midcap company that made you stand up and take notice?

Amit Khurana: Well, quite a few. As I said, the news flow at the company level, at the segment level has been fairly supportive. The challenge is that we are not getting that effect in the aggregate earnings and this is going to be a different move in the market.

ET Now: Which is fine but if the earnings stay stable?

Amit Khurana: So for example, we are looking at the theme of amusement parks, there are two of them in India which are listed and are of meaningful sizes. Now, if you do have significant infrastructure development around Mumbai, then you an imagine the kind of traction that it can give to the Mumbai based park, obviously everybody knows we are talking about Adlabs.

ET Now: And the third lines actually, better road means that we will go for weekends.

Amit Khurana: Weekends, and remember the airport is 30 minutes away, is this a parallel of the Hong Kong Disney World?
