YES Bank, IndusInd Bank to join BSE Sensex; shares up
NEW DELHI: Shares of IndusInd Bank and YES Bank ended higher on Monday after Asia Index on Friday said that both of these lenders will make an entry in the BSE’s benchmark index Sensex from December 18.

On the other hand, drug makers - Cipla and Lupin - will be dropped from the index.

IndusInd Bank gained 1.17 per cent to close at Rs 1649.90 on BSE, while YES Bank rose 2.20 per cent at Rs 313.20.

Cipla was down 0.99 per cent at Rs 602.60. Lupin ended the day 0.39 per cent down at Rs 826.25.

The move is a part of Asia Index’s semi-annual reconstitution results.

"Effective at the open of Monday, December 18, 2017, ...changes will be made," the index provider noted.

Federal Bank, Grasim Industries, Vakrangee Ltd and Bajaj Holdings & Investment will be added to BSE 100 index.

However, United Breweries, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), Canara Bank and Reliance Infrastructure will move out from the index.
