— NSE India (@NSEIndia) 1678958968000Through a sarcastic short video, the intention of the exchange is to make investors take advice only from Sebi-registered investment advisors and stop being greedy.
Sebi has recently barred noted bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, his wife Maria Goretti and some others from the securities market for alleged involvement in the pump-and-dump scheme through Youtube channels.
While market participants hailed the regulator for enforcing tough penalties, the actor on his part has denied any wrongdoing.
As the name indicates, the pump-and-dump scheme involves driving the share price higher through false and manipulative information, by typically someone who has a position in the stock.
