Volumes in Icra, Radico Khaitan, United Breweries shares surge on BSE

MUMBAI: Trade in stocks of Icra, Radico Khaitan and United Breweries today saw their volumes on BSE spurting by 10 times more than the average daily volume for the past two weeks.

Icra clocked volume of 50,000 shares on BSE today, registering a 53-times surge over the two-week average daily volume of about 1,000 shares, according BSE data.

The stock price surged 5 per cent during the day to touch the intra-day high of Rs 1,260 during the day.

Radico Khaitan saw 17.06 lakh of its shares trading on the BSE, a 12-fold jump over its two week average daily volume of about 1.41 laks shares. The stock gained 1.88 per cent to day's high of Rs 154.

Over 5.30 lakh shares of United Breweries were traded on BSE today, 11.30-times surge over the two week average daily volume of 47,000 shares.

Some of the other stocks that witnessed a significant spurt in volumes include Gujarat Pipavav (10.76 times), Jubilant (9.79 times), Ing Vysya (8.27 times), Indiabulls Housing Finance (7.54 times), IPCA Lab (7.33 times) and Mahindra Forgings (6.58 times).
