Mumbai: Visa's India and South Asia head Sandeep Ghosh has decided to step down after over four years to pursue an external opportunity, with a successor already identified and set to be announced soon. His exit comes at a time when the payments major is deepening its focus on digital payments and expanding partnerships across the region.

"After over four years with Visa, Sandeep Ghosh, Group Country Manager for India and South Asia, has decided to leave the organisation for an external opportunity," a company spokesperson said. "The decision was communicated in advance to ensure a smooth transition. His successor has been identified, and the appointment will be announced soon."

Prior to joining Visa, Ghosh was a partner in financial services consulting at EY.
