Vanguard Group, among the largest investment companies globally, bought stakes in Deepak Fertilisers, Elgi Equipments and Gujarat Heavy Chemicals on Friday, shows NSE bulk deal data.

The FII bought 6.89 lakhs shares in Deepak Fertilisers at an average price of Rs 890.23 per share. The stock ended lower by over 3 per cent at Rs 887.70 apiece on the NSE on Friday.

Vanguard bought shares of Elgi Equipments in 2 lots. In the first batch, it bought over 28 lakh shares, while the second lot was of about 27 lakh shares. The average price for the deal was at Rs 489.2. The stock ended Friday with a fall of close to 7 per cent at Rs 489.05 per share.


Vanguard also bought a stake in Gujarat Heavy Chemicals (GHCL), by buying over 11.88 lakh shares at an average price of Rs 671.12 apiece.

According to the June shareholding pattern, of the 3 companies, Vanguard did not own stakes in any of them.
