Union Budget 2012-13: IT companies to benefit from UID allocation

Shares of IT companies were buzzing after the Finance Minister hiked allocation to Nandan Nilekani-led Unique Identification Authority of India by 13% to Rs 14232 cr.

MUMBAI: Shares of IT companies were buzzing after the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee hiked allocation to Nandan Nilekani-led Unique Identification Authority of India by 13 per cent to Rs 14232 crore.

Recently there were reports that HCL Infosystems had emerged as the lowest bidder for Rs 2200 crore UID project.

BSE IT Index was up 0.10 per cent.

HCL Infosystems was up 0.32 per cent, Vakrangee Software gained 4 per cent, Hexaware Technologies moved 2.14 per cent higher and Wipro gained 1.16 per cent.
